Oysters are masters at cleaning the water around them; a single oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day. Unfortunately, due to pollution, disease and overharvesting, oyster populations are dangerously low (down 90% since the 70s!). Read about the great oyster restoration projects spearheaded by The Nature Conservancy of New Hampshire (which calendar sales are benefitting this year!).
This woodcut was printed with nontoxic vegetable oil-based inks in a reduction technique for my 2026 calendar. Printed on Rives BFK. Block measures 7 × 10”. Limited, varied edition run of 7.
