Blue crab: important and beloved scavenger down the eastern US coast. They eat almost anything, including dead plant and animal material, and are the most important species in the Chesapeake Bay for fishing. Latest data shows the population has greatly declined in the last few years, at the second lowest since data recording began in the 90s.
This woodcut was printed with nontoxic vegetable oil-based inks in a reduction technique for my 2026 calendar. Printed on Rives BFK. Block measures 7 × 10”. Limited, varied edition of 7.
