One of my favorite signs of spring is the blanket of tiny trout lilies in the yard and on the woodland edges. These ephemeral plants camouflage well, but a closer inspection will reveal purple and green speckled leaves and gorgeous, bright yellow flowers. They’re cheery, unique, and easy to miss unless you’re really paying attention.
