I’m always taking pictures of the seaweed tangles when I walk the beach. I’m especially interested in the types that are edible, so I included Irish moss, sugar kelp, bladderwrack, horsetail kelp and winged kelp— all edible sea veg found along the New England coast.
This woodcut was printed in approx 10 layers of nontoxic vegetable oil-based inks, all from a single block, on fabriano rosespina paper. Block measures approx 14 × 18”, paper 16 × 20.” Limited run of 24.
Due to the nature of the block printing process, colors and printing will vary slightly in each print.
