lafayette I

$135.00

Mt. Lafayette was one of the first mountains I hiked in the Whites when I first moved to New England years ago. I have returned to it again and again, not just on the trail but driving by it, as 93 cuts straight up through the notch alongside this beauty. Every time, I look up and try to see the summit, but so often the clouds hang low around the summit, making it impossible to see from the road. I wanted to capture that mysterious, foggy view in this print.

This woodcut was printed in a reduction style, with approx 8 layers of ink in total. Using nontoxic vegetable oil-based inks, I printed on white Fabriano Rosaspina paper. Block measures 8x6”. Limited run of only 21 in this colorway.

Due to the nature of the block printing process, colors and printing will vary slightly in each print.

*If you choose framing, please allow an additional few weeks for order to be complete.
